I just wanted there to be a female genius on that show, anon. It's all I wanted.

Yeah. I feel that lots of people want that, but they're waiting for the infamous Irene Adler to appear so she'll fill that role.

Truth be told, I don't share this idea. First of all, Irene was not a very important character in the books, and although it would be interesting for her to appear (although in just one story) I'd really like for Molly to be that female-capable-character we're waiting for. Because it would be more surprising, and because after so much shit thrown at her (Sherlock's behavious towards her, all the affair with 'Jim from IT',...) it would be unbelivable if she remained the same. Circunstances MUST change her, even maybe turn her into a BAMF. So, maybe he won't be Moriarty/someone related to Moriarty, but at least I really hope she turns into a badass who knows how to stand her ground. It's the only logical completion to her situation. And Sherlock REALLY needs his ass to be kicked by her!

I feel like being the only person shown to outsmart Sherlock Holmes in the books makes Irene Adler a relatively significant character (plus, she's just cool -- an opera-singing adventuress? - where do I sign?). At any rate, she was in as many stories as Moriarty.

I do agree that Molly needs to put Sherlock in his place, though.

Ouch! While writing that, I was under the misconception that Irene has only appeared in one story (wrong!). I agree she's an interesting character... but for some reason I don't want her to be the main strong female character. Because it's pretty predictable, and because for me it's Molly's storyline has the potential to become very interesting.
I mean, she's one of the few characters that doesn't seem to be based in anyone from the books. And she's being used, to different degrees, by both Shelock and Moriarty... I don't know, something must happen with her in the future, right? (I hope that 'something' isn't her being a future victim... although it could be).

She did only appear in one story -- Moriarty also only appeared in one story (and I think is implicated in one other).

I'd like multiple strong female characters. I would really like it if they could develop Molly into someone who would stand up to Sherlock and also have an Irene Adler drop in from time to time. That would be awesome.

Yes, you're correct. Obviously, the early hours are not good for me (and to try to access data from my sleepy brain XD).

Also, where do I have to sign to have your ideas happening in the second season? (Although, I said before, if they didn't happen, it wouldn't be very coherent, would it?)

I wish I knew! I feel like someone needs to buy Steven Moffat and/or Mark Gatiss a drink and be like, "Look, so I have ideas..."

Adler is only in one story, and so is Moriarty (well... maybe two?). Hell, Moriarty is never even seen "on screen", it's all second hand accounts from Holmes, or Watson making guesses. Honestly, I find there are far more interesting stories and characters--good and bad--than these two. Not to mention the numerous stories with no real villain ("The Man With the Twisted Lip", "The Yellow Face").

As for Sherlock, I kinda hope they deal with the Jim thing in the season two premiere, then have more self-contained stories for the rest of the season. I really don't think that every. freaking. show. needs a season-long story arc.
