Apparently in the original script Salt was male. This was changed when one of the producers considered Anglina Jolie for the part.

I was so happy about there not being any sex scenes. Watching people have sex pisses me off because it grosses me out so much. I don't want to see that shit. Especially while eating popcorn and a bunch of other junk food that already makes me want to purge my innards because I feel like a greasy piece of shit.
