I saw it in London when I was a child, which is also where I got the soundtrack (although that CD is long gone now). I remember that I really liked watching the racing because the tracks looped around and through the audience, but I found the romantic parts really boring. Oh, childhood.

I sympathize with you about the romantic parts.

The racing doesn't transcend to a cast album, but the music is terrific throughout. My favorite track is the title song, which is the one aspect of the album that particularly changed my life.

God, do I envy you. The neophyte's only recourse is to see the show in Germany now.
