As a heads up:

"I just got this message when I went on tinypic from my location in Germany.

Tinypic is no longer accepting uploads from international locations, and links are turned off. If you have content on Tinypic, you can still view the URLs and the content, but only on Tinypic. To upload, share, or link content, please go to Photobucket.com to register an account. You will need to upload your content again to your Photobucket account, but you will be able to share and link your images and videos. We’re sorry for the inconvenience and hope that you enjoy Photobucket, our premier image and video site

Upon clicking for more information:

Tinypic International is changing. Beginning September 23rd, you will no longer be able to upload content to Tinypic and your links will be turned off. Please begin using Photobucket to upload, share and link your images and videos."

This is probably the reason so many tinypic secrets are messing up.

Yeah, that happened to me too at PB, that's why I left (I had a Pro account, ironically). All my .jpg files were heavily compressed and all my icons were terribly pixellated. So from 30kb icon I had 8kb icon. :/

Ugh, how frustrating (at least I didn't put any money into my account!). I don't get it either, because they very clearly have an option to turn on/off resizing. Just too bad they don't actually pay attention to what the user chooses.

Yeah, but apparently resizing is one thing, compressing the pics is another. It was fine last year and a couple of months after that I found out all of my uploaded pics (even the ones I uploaded aaaaages ago) were compressed. :/

I'm now using paid Pict account (besides my LJ scrapbook and my domain space) and I'm satisfied.

Augh, they're really doing that? I've had a Photobucket account for ages and I've never had any problem with resizing... I'll have to find a new place. :( dammit.

Yeah. I saw a post on some off-LJ community about it about a year ago or so, checked my stuff and they were all okay. Months later, I can see on my LJ posts, that my icons are suddenly blurry and blocky, so I was like WTF? Went ahead and checked and yup, they compressed the hell out of them. I'm not sure whether they do it to all formats but most of my icons are in .jpg.

Original icon (http://icons.eternity-online.net/categories/Doctor_Who__Ten_and_Donna/tendonna7.jpg) (17kb) vs. PB resized (http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y293/samjack_girl/doctor%20who/tendonna7.jpg) (3kb)
