As a heads up:

"I just got this message when I went on tinypic from my location in Germany.

Tinypic is no longer accepting uploads from international locations, and links are turned off. If you have content on Tinypic, you can still view the URLs and the content, but only on Tinypic. To upload, share, or link content, please go to Photobucket.com to register an account. You will need to upload your content again to your Photobucket account, but you will be able to share and link your images and videos. We’re sorry for the inconvenience and hope that you enjoy Photobucket, our premier image and video site

Upon clicking for more information:

Tinypic International is changing. Beginning September 23rd, you will no longer be able to upload content to Tinypic and your links will be turned off. Please begin using Photobucket to upload, share and link your images and videos."

This is probably the reason so many tinypic secrets are messing up.

Seriously, I HATE IT when a friend out of my country is all "OH MY GOD YOU SHOULD SEE THIS" and I "YESYESYES -OPENS LINK- ........ My country can't see it FML".

I totally agree with your post, it's just... I don't know how to say it anymore. I get mad, angry, sad and stressed everytime shit like this happens.

But as you said internet = America. And that's another thing I dislike, since I'm also american because I live and I born in the continent, but I'm not from the US, and so, calling me american it's wrong for some people.

-sighs-

Yeah. :/ I don't know how often I have read something along the lines of "You are not allowed to view this content in your country / outside the US"... And if I have to read YouTube's on that one more time, I might just smash my keyboard. >/
I used to use a proxy for that and until lately it worked with YouTube and some other sites at least, but I'm not really computersavvy and I cannot fool them anymore. D: (Also, especially aggravating: US television sites, where I could see the shows, I want to watch, legally... Oh well. xD)

[identity profile] shineofastar.livejournal.com 2010-09-23 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm so smashing my keyboard with you next time, srsly >(

My cousin is a computer geek, so he also gave me links I could use to fool veoh, telling them I was a normal japanese girl watching anime with spanish subs. Anyway, I couldn't fool them after a time, as you :(

And that's why here in the south we do things in the not legally way |Db join us

[identity profile] urania-chan.livejournal.com 2010-09-23 10:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Rawr, don't remind me of veoh. >/ But it seems rather strange that proxies don't work all the time... :/

Right there with ya! ;) They can send weird threatening commercials against "internet crime" all they want, I won't let YouTube dictate my video viewing habits!

[identity profile] shineofastar.livejournal.com 2010-09-24 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
IKR >( That pissed me off like you can't even imagine! And truth right there... It's strange they don't work. Maybe the sites work for their security and that stuff, boo :(

TOTALLY, MY FRIEND. What's internet crime, I only want to have fun and that's what part of the internet it's for! Youtube can take its threatening commercials, I don't care about them.

[identity profile] urania-chan.livejournal.com 2010-09-24 10:28 am (UTC)(link)
Stupid security. That's just mean. They could tell their licence guys "Well, we tried! Sadly, those foreigners are too smart for us." Or something. :(

Yeah, really, like I can see this happening "Hello, I'm in jail because I watched US only content on YouTube..."

Btw, can I friend you? Then we can totally hate YouTube in secret. Or openly. Or something. :)

[identity profile] shineofastar.livejournal.com 2010-09-24 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly :( smarter foreigners are just polite foreigners that want to have fun too! And if they don't invite us to the party, we can always enter through a window!

And then that would lead to a revolution on our countries and thanks to us, poor martyrs, internet's freedom will be reached. Amen.

And of course, we can be lovely and foreigner friends who rant about youtube everytime and everywhere <3

[identity profile] urania-chan.livejournal.com 2010-09-24 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Sounds like a plan. Will continue and try continuing my proxy using ways and see what will come. ;)

Added you! ♥ Sounds like a lovely pasttime! :)

We have the same problem in the Uk a lot of stuff is USA only

[identity profile] shineofastar.livejournal.com 2010-09-24 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
-pats pats-

It also happens to me with UK videos, though. A friend used to send me videos and a few were UK only too :(

[identity profile] duowolf.livejournal.com 2010-09-24 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
It's most likly a copyright/licencing problem but it doesn't make it anyless annoying.

[identity profile] shineofastar.livejournal.com 2010-09-24 08:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly. Still people can use other/hide IPs to see those videos or webpages and they should know that, so it only makes it more annoying.
