I totally agree. The second I heard Cid's voice in that movie, that was it. I can never imagine him sounding any other way. Also, I don't really want to. :D

Only thing I was disappointed about was that they cut down on his swearing. Which, granted, I can understand why they did, since the movie/DoC would have been rated M if they'd have him run his potty mouth, but it just felt kinda odd not hearing Cid cuss like a sailor.

But otherwise, yeah I don't mind his voice.

Cid's voice made me come to terms with the fact that Square gave Cloud a weak and wimpy voice, gave Vincent a gravelly voice, didn't give Sephiroth a soft and seductive voice, and keep changing Aerith's voices.

Funny thing is, I always pictured Cloud having a Southern accent, because the way his words sometimes came across in the original game. That and he's from a hick town in the middle of nowhere. One of my favorite bits of Crisis core is when he and Zack have a laugh over being country boys.

That being said, it's hard to picture Cid being voiced by anyone other than Chris Edgerly, with the possible exception of R. Lee Ermey.

I like his accent, too. I normally don't care that people have a problem with it except for when I hear people say that he's 'too smart' to have a southern accent. Wtf is that shit. I'm not from the south but I have a backwoods drawl of my own and find it awesome that someone with Cid's intelligence was given his type of fuck-all personality and voice.

Anyway, I think the Southern accent suits him perfectly. But I agree with what people said about the swearing, it's a shame they had to take that element out seeing as it is so core to who he is. (Along with the smoking and tea-drinking which are also not in AC!)

When I played the original game, I read it in a Southern accent right from the "Shut up, sit your ass down in that chair and drink your goddamn tea!" line. I mean, seriously.
