GOD THIS.

Seriously, he was probably my favorite character and he effectively got killed off halfway through Catching Fire, and the only closure we got was a throwaway line at the beginning of Mockingjay!

And I'm also still upset over Finnick's death too; he really snuck up on me and became another one of my favorite characters and then BAM he's dead that sucks. >[

I was so choked up when I realized he'd actually died. I kept thinking they just beat him up a bit and kept him imprisoned and the resistance would break him out and everything would be AWESOME. Not so. D: D:

It was the worst. I spent the first part of Mockingjay trying to figure if he really HAD died or not or if he was just in prison or something.

And when I realized he was gone, that was the first time in the series I really started crying. I didn't really stop until an hour or two after I finished Mockingjay. I read it in two sittings. I was teary for two entire days.

This so much, anon. I liked Katniss and the rest and I thought the story as a whole was powerful and well-written, but I went into Mockingjay just hoping he'd be alive. And I'm not sure if it made it better or worse that he was still very PRESENT in the book.

I know I'm late to the party, but...

This! Oh god, I couldn't agree more, every page with Cinna's name on is probably tear stained because it set me off every time. It's weird, I didn't think I cared that much about him when he was alive, but throughout Mockingjay I kept having these mini breakdowns.

He was so good and so kind.

Also Finnick, but I didn't have as many pages to spend mourning him, so it wasn't quite so bad. I still can't believe he's dead, though. Loved him.

I basically agreed with all the crossed out statements on your secret. I kind of knew Katniss would end up with Peeta, but it still horrifies me. Suzanne Collins definitely knows how to write real people, though, because every choice made perfect sense, even if I didn't agree with the characters' decisions.

I can't entirely accept that the series is over.
