Video games are sexist. A lot of female characters are bad. Not all of them are. Play something other than fucking No More Heroes and you'll quickly find that out. I have 0 sympathy for anybody who dismisses all female characters out of hand as boring, lame, or under-dressed - that attitude feeds the problem, and usually colours perception of characters who are perfectly good.

Oh wow, being called sexist is the last thing I expected! I really didn't think of it this way, and definitely didn't mean it like this.

Gals, this refers to vid games, movies, not actual RL women!

Not all female characters are bad, but the sort of games I enjoy mostly are low on them... No more heroes was a great game! I dont see games like this with female main characters! I play all sorts of games and to each their own. Some people like apples and some oranges. Whats the deal? What sort of games you would recommand me than? The whiny female from The World Ends with you? (great game, still a meh female character and all the rest were male)

Anyways, Zoey is kinda boring. Rochelle is way better and I like her lots but she's missing something very important Ellis, Nick and coach easily have in that game - banter, lines. She's also acting very mom-ish toward Ellis. Its a huge turn off for me. I dont feel mom-ish at all. I cant fangirl over her at all, she doesnt have the fun element Ellis has, for example, or the player assholness Nick has.

Jill I only remember in the police uniform. I dont think I ever seen her in civilian.

As for Ellis? yeah I actually rather dress as Ellis. I like band shirts from concerts I go to, such as Roger Waters one - The Wall. There were Two! women sized shirts, the rest - the real cool ones are man sized. I took the small size, but still it hangs on me and doesnt look that good. Thats the sort of shirt Ellis wears.

But thats just l4d2. Lets not get stuck on one example. Plenty of others out there!

Are you fucking kidding me? Coach acts like he's ROCHELLE AND ELLIS' DAD, and you can say the same for Bill for Zoey. Zoey had LOTS of good lines, especially with Francis and Louis. Did you even play the game?

Rochelle acts like a mom too. But she has less fun lines to make up for it.

"I know one thing, I'm grabbin pills"
etc.

Rochelles one line shine was the axe me a question. Coach was by far less apologetic than her.
I didnt say anything about bill. And I didnt like zoey much. I am not sure how this is connected to the fact that the game still had better male characters than female overall.

If rochelle and coach switched lines, you would have a point. but considering we have ellis and nick, she falls short. They are far more interesting than her.

My point was that you were using "rochelle acts like his mom" as an argument against her, then turning around and saying coach was fine.

Rochelle has banter, but you apparently refuse to acknowledge that, and Zoey is fucking full of it, but you just don't like her.

Grow up, or start playing as the girls so you can actually hear some of their lines.

Bad wording on my part! I dont care for coach either, but between the two of them he still outdoes rochelle.

Rochelle has less fun banter overall still. I hear the lines but there arent really exchanges like there are going on between Nick and Ellis. "Sweety is now really the time?" yeah I heard that, but when Ellis tells nick off (swamp fever)it is coach that says that the kid is finally showing him up. She just ends up feeling very docile.

I would love to grow up (and out of thining like that) but what does it mean? forcing an opinion against the obeservations?

I am not saying all female characters are bad. But we are lacking variety and fun. I play as whoever the game puts me as in quickmatch. so I get a lot of time with coach and rochelle, them being the less popular choices or something.

and zoey and rochelle dress in a very similar matter.
