I am a lesbian. Dudes just do not do it for me. I can find them physically attractive, but never have I found a male to be sexual attractive. Just not wired that way.

That part kind of annoyed me too. I can recognize and be affected by an attractive person, regardless of gender. I guess not everyone is like that though!

Ditto that not everyone is the same. But ALSO, Neal's particular brand of sex appeal might not appeal to Diana. I find it hilarious, but I think he's sexier when he's being smart, or being creative, then when he's actually trying to seduce. AND THEN I think that Diana was also trying to set a boundary. Neal uses his sex appeal to get what he wants, and I think Diana wants to make sure he knows that he can't do that with her. The fact that he even had to make sure it wasn't doing anything for her means that he kinda thinks of himself as SUCH A SEX MACHINE that mere sexuality cannot contain his appeal. Which I find an adorable thing about Neal, myself; it's sort of egotistical and deeply insecure at the same time.

Wow. Really? Sexuality is highly individual; for some people it's quite fluid, and for some not at all. Also - and I realize this may blow your mind - but not only is it perfectly believable that Diana wouldn't respond to Neal, there are plenty of straight women and gay men who wouldn't happen to respond sexually to Neal.

Would you be similarly disbelieving if Diana, say, turned down a cup of tea? "I don't like tea, either, but my tastes are fluid enough that I would want to drink tea if someone offered it to me. I just can't believe that someone wouldn't want to drink tea if tea was sitting in right in front of them! I call bullshit on her not liking tea." Your argument is nonsensical.

Yeah, sexuality is individual, but I get OP's point that it does seem kind of artificial when anyone, regardless of gender or sexuality, is able to make a blanket statement about an entire gender. Like saying, "I could *never* be attracted to a man" just seems like a huge assumption to me. To use your analogy, to me it's like saying "I only like tea, and could never enjoy any other beverage, ever, no matter what."

Not that that's exactly what the secret was about, since in this case it's just denying one dude, but it smacks of "if you're a real lesbian you can't ever find men attractive" which is as ridiculous as saying "if you're really straight, you can't ever be attracted to someone of the same gender (and if you are then you're TOTALLY GAY!)"

Not familiar with the fandom; but it would depend on the way they were trying. If there is any sort of assumption on their part that they can/are turning me on, it automatically pushes my interest WAY into the red.


And sexuality is fluid for SOME people, OP. For others, it's really not. Would you appreciate someone questioning your identity as a lesbian because they've decided lesbianism just plain doesn't exist, regardless of what you had to say about it?

What everyone else said, but also - Diana is in a relationship, is on the job and undercover in that scene, and has stated her dislike/distrust of Neal already. Even if she was into dudes, I cannot see her being turned on in that situation at all.
