Generally, yes. Unless you happen to be a sports geek (eg: the baseball aficionado).

Slash and rpf though. It's pretty mindless. You just need attractive people coming into rough contact with eachother pretty often to easily get a fanbase of slash fans.

Fandom originated with sports. Thus sports is actually not only a fandom, but the biggest fandom.

Yes, there is a fandom. It depends on if you like the sport or if you want to just squee over hot boys.

If you're just in it for the boys, I recommend the sites the above posted suggested.

If you also care about the sport, I suggest

hockey and making friends there and then getting into the slashing. There are a lot of slashers that aren't complete vapid morons and like to discuss the sport too.

Yeah, you missed the point. Your disgusted attitude toward people enjoying themselves is hardly a glowing endorsement for your community.

1) It's not my community. It's the hockey community on LJ. If you don't know that, I think you've just proved my point.

2) I don't like puckbunnies. I won't apologise for that. I was in on the ground floor of one of those communities. It stopped being about the sport and became about how much they loooooove the boys. I like the sport first, the slash second. If that somehow seems wrong to you, yet again, I've proven my point.

(I won't lie though, you are right about the comms. But IWP seems to be dead, and ONTD pucking is locked, but they're all about the boys from what I can see. I don't like hockey either - although they talk about the SPORT, that comm just seems stale to me.)

No, I never was. (I refer to the "hockey boyfriends" and all that crap. Did I say the boys were hot? Yup. I still think so. I still slash. I was never a puckbunny.) But now I wonder who you are, since I think everyone I knew back then would have the stones to comment with her own journal. Too bad I'm evidently wrong.

Oh wow, if there ever was a drama stan, you're it. There's nothing wrong with the girls in either one of those comms. Yeah, the topic of attractive players comes up quite often, but to be out and out labelled as puckbunnies is quite a sexist and ignorant comment to make. Last I checked, people can like sport and not be asexual.

no you're wrong. you have to lists stats and care about fantasy draft pools and know all the GAA's in the league in order to be considered an okay female hockey fan!!!!
