What do you mean by 'forced'? I'll admit I haven't found many Sherlock fics that truly blew my mind, but then I also haven't come across that many truly awful fics considering the number that have been written. So maybe it's a trade-off?

I disagree. I've read a lot of awesome fic from this fandom. There are a lot of talented artists and graphic makers as well. Whatever floats your boat I suppose.

That hasn't been my experience. Hmm. You could defriend the BBC Sherlock community and just stick with the other versions? There've been a number of shows that I've loved to bits but the fic just didn't work for me. I've since stopped reading them.

I've actually been pleasantly surprised by the fic coming out of this fandom. For years, I've tried reading fic for all the various incarnations of SH, including the original stories, and none of them have worked for me at all. I thought the latest would just be more of the same, but I've found a lot of keepers so far. Which is making me a pretty happy fangirl.
