But we're talking about fandom feminists, not offline ones, aren't we? And tbh feminism is pretty marginal offline outside college campuses and left-wing political circles.

Marginal? Depends on how you define feminism.

I agree that ontd_feminism has a large percentage of annoying, abusive women. They are like .0005% of feminism. People make them out to be more of a force than they actually are.

This secret is about FANDOM FEMINISTS.

What don't you fucking understand?

Yes, this secret is about fandom feminists. Not ONTD feminists exclusively.

I'm probably overstepping my bounds, but it looks like you're using a small, vocal portion of feminists in general fandom as a representation of the whole so that you can sling around insults. Seriously, what's really bothering you here?

The secret is about fandom feminists. Is there a community called that, and if so, why isn't that specified in the secret? I mean, I can read English, and ONTD_feminists doesn't have the same arrangement of letters as fandom_feminists or even fandomfeminists.

Your anger seems misplaced, anon.

uh yes obviously but to say feminism is marginal outside of college campuses and left-wing political circles is bizarre

there are plenty of feminists all over the world doing lots of important work

I'm no expert in feminist history, but a lot of the rights women have fought for (and continue to fight for) rarely have to do with a specific side's political agenda (unless the party in question is full of misogynists).

A good example of this is to look at the Republican party in the US. In modern times they are right-wing and conservative, and yet there are women who hold public office and are members of the Republican party. Whether or not these women are feminists or not does not deny that they have benefited from feminist struggles in the past.

Women have come a long way, even if they still have a ways to go.

And yes we were talking about fandom feminists, but the thought that feminism is in such a small part of society is a bit naive.
