That's something I said a few times, too! The Jeff/Britta friendship makes me clap my skelly little hands with glee, even though I ship Jeff/Annie. Or did. Last episode made both Jeff and Britta too cartoonishly douchebaggy for me to love them, but I'm just going to dismiss that one as a misstep too far rather than an example of ongoing characterization. Because then I would be sad.

I think adding romance to their relationship makes them douchebaggy/ridiculous. If they were just friends then that sort of thing wouldn't have happened.

I think what Jeff was about to do to Pierce was a bit much, though. I guess I disagree with the interpretation that Jeff was a straight-up jerk who turned good, and backtracked. I actually read him as a genuine good (not nice) person who never knew it before he entered an environment filled with people who needed him. I mean, Jeff was making a jackass of himself for Pierce's sake by the end of the second episode, and he didn't even like the man.

And the way Britta was going after Annie was just shameful. She's never been the most mature person, but telling a teenager she's jump-starting date rapists? Are you fucking kidding me?

Yeah, I wish I could see more of that between Jeff and Britta too. I say this as someone who likes both ships too, but they're amazing when they're high-fiving and shit. <3

I don't ship anyone on the show except maybe Troy and Abed, but I totally agree. That would be my ultimate happy ending for the two of them.

Agreed. I actually will like their narrative more if they end up as just friends. Original!Jeff with all his douchebaggy, womanizing ways sees Britta on the first day of class and wants to sleep with her. Because she's Britta, he doesn't get his way and ends up having to actually be a real person and make friends. THEN, even after he does sleep with her, they remain best friends. Original!Jeff would never spend time with her if he wasn't getting laid. New!Jeff respects her and loves her and wants her in his life, even if they work better as friends. It shows how much he's changed!

Yeah, their romantic chemistry doesn't really do anything for me, but I LOVE it when they're working on something together. Their awesomeness was pretty much the only thing that saved the episode with Lisa Rinna and the annoying teens from completely sucking.

THEY ARE SUPER-BEST-FRIENDS.

Jeff/Annie may not work GREAT but it'd be a better romantic coupling, but Jeff/Britta BFFness is amazing

Yes, they would definitely work better as friends. Every close guy-and-girl relationship does not have to be a romantic relationship.

i've been a J/B shipper since the pilot but this is exactly why i believe they work so perfectly together...their friendship is amazing. i still want them to be endgame but for now, watching their friendship grow is enough
