Humanity works like this, see: good is a bucket of white paint and bad is a bucket of red paint. If you put a drop of white in the red paint, no one notices; however, if you put a drop of red in the white paint, pretty soon the whole damn thing is pink.

In short, evil is more noticeable and attracts more attention than good deeds. We can also call this the Aladdin anaology--everybody noticed that Jasmine took an apple, but nobody cared that she gave it to someone else.
