I get what you're saying, but dude, why talk about Zuko/Katara fans like they're a different species? Plenty of them can be rabid, but so can the other fans of the Avatar fandom, regardless of their character/ship preference. Just because the Zuko/Katara fans may be the worst of the lot doesn't mean you can determine their thinking pattern that easily.

Same thing goes for Sonic fandom. Or Pokemon, Naruto, Bleach, Harry Potter, etc.

They called themselves "zutarans" or whatever else. it is pretty stupid, so i gues I shouldn't follow their lead. But I don't really know what how rabid other shippers are has to do with thsi? I was not trying to determine anyone's thinking pattern. I was just saying based on what I have seen in the fandom that they do not really seem to get the characters just based on how they talk about them and write them. Plus They just ignore everything on the show and things the writer's say about other pairings and then think stuff like dvd cover art where Zuko and Katara are across from each other is a message about how it will be canon.

I used to ship it as a crackpairing because i didn't like any of the ones that are canon but then I could never find anyone who didn't want to keep talking about how it is canon even though they are never in any scenes together and the writers laugh at it and talk about how Zuko is whipped by another girl and Aang/Katara has always been the plan of the show.

if you could ship it and not get annoyed with all the people at

katara_zuko always ignoring everything they don't like and talking about how it is the super secret plan and how the show will suck if it does not happen, more power to you. It's like the only hot pairing on the show.

i made like three posts that were pretty evenkeel trying to explain why someone might find zutara shippers annoying for people who are not in the fandom. That is not a "crusade."

Do you realize how stupid you look to anyone to actually knows what they are talking about?

unless you think that people who delusionally ignore the show and the writers and everything else to insist that their ship is canon and call themselves "the zutarian empire" and talk about how stupid all other shippers are not to see how it is super secret canon are not obnoxious and crazy?

So guess i should make sure some good comes out of this right? If any of you who are reading this are curious about Zutara and want to read some really great fics, these are my favorates!

Tempest in a teacup (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2847752/1/) is a AU fic where Zuko and Katara grew up as friends. And Iroh is in it a TON, which makes it extra great! This is probably the best written fic in the whole fanndom, so if you only read one fic make sure its this one!!!!!

Dangerous ground (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2689893/1/) is like this huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge fic with a really great plot, where zuko and katara get captured by earthbender rebels and have to agree to fight with them in order to survive. it's really epic, and goes all the way through to the fight with the fire lord! The only problem i have with it is that the author is really religious, so there isn't a lot of sex, but i guess you can't have everything in one fic, right?

The ho'wan carnival (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2653834/1/) is the first fic in a really long series, and it starts during the first season. it was the first zutara fic i read, and its really sweet. (the sequel can get a little bloody, though, just to warn you.)
