The problem is... I think he wants to write about countries that are involved in WORLD HISTORY. There are just too many who only have historical ties to other countries that haven't appeared yet etc.

The idea that none of the countries in Africa or South America are involved in world history is so Eurocentric (or in this case, Asia-centric as well as Eurocentric, although the author didn't even include half of Asia, either)

You're also forgetting obvious things like the fact that Algeria kind of fought an entire war of independence against France, that North Africa was a theatre of war in WWII, this is just basic history that everyone should know from watching the Military Channel for fuck's sake.

You don't get it, do you? The North African country that Himaruya used was Egypt. There was even an appereance in the anime.

War of Independence of Algeria? What about Belgian-Congo? Then Belgium would finally make an appereance. Dozens of countries had independence wars, you can't mention them all. That's why he focused on the American War of Independence.

Do you want him to make a story about Middle East? Ever heard of Afghanis-tan? Maybe he was worried somebody would say he only stole the idea. In fact, I think he leaves out so much because of some idiots like those Koreans (I really only mean those who used fanart to prove that Hetalia is "evil", of course not Koreans in general) would send him death threats.

And for Fuck's sake, not everybody gets the Military Channel.

By the way, don't judge a show you don't know.

Do you want him to make a story about Middle East? Ever heard of Afghanis-tan?

Afghanis-tan is about Central and South Asia but. Afghanistan's geographical categorizing is difficult as all hell, buuuuut Afghanistan, historically, is kind of never included in West Asia/the Middle East. It's totes Central or South Asia, unless we're going with that 'Terrorism/Muslim majority = Middle East' definition Americans have.

SORRY LOL I am a nitpicky geography loser! I agree that it would be a complete disastuh if the Middle East was included in Hetalia, no matter what time period, but it doesn't hurt to wish for some variety. Constantly showing pasty-ass Europeans can get too much for anybody lol.

Nah, it's absolutely correct what you said.
And don't get me wrong, I would love to see more characters, too. For example a South American one. Or, as many said, something not-East Asian.

And looking at some European characters... Liechtenstein and Sealand may be cute, Seborga too, but what..?
