What are you talking about? Fandom is for the fans. When creators get involved it becomes something else. Not to say it's better or worse but it inherently changes into a different environment when the person who makes the rules steps onto the scene, compared to the children playing among themselves, so to speak.

Creators are a part of fandom. Without the creator, the fandom would not exist in the first place. Lol, so touchy.

Teachers are part of school. If a teacher followed you around all recess and wanted to push you on the swing, it would be a very different thing from recess. The teacher has too much social power to be accepted as a peer, you can't just ignore that a teacher is a teacher.

If a creator of a series wants to mask themselves as a fellow fan that's all well and good but once it becomes clear that they are a creator it DOES become a different space. They can't help it and neither can the fans.

Excellent example, anon. There's also the fact that side notes and comments of the original author are termed the "Word of God," and that should really tell everybody where they rank in the scheme of things. :)
