I CAN'T! I said that in the secret :( I'm afraid it might break up our friendship or put a strain on it. I know, if something like that endangers a friendship people will say it's not a proper friendship, but it's complicated :( *shrugs*

Is it really that big a deal...? Not all friends like exactly the same music/books/shows/movies.

Yeah, I know. I have this problem only with her. Sometimes it feels like our friendship is solely based on fandom-things even though I'd call her one of my best friends. I feel like if I tell her that I don't like that band, she'll try not to talk about fandom stuff (no matter what fandom) to me anymore which would result in us talking ... very little.

Ugh, haha, sorry for dumping all that on you.

I can't believe I missed that. Sorry. =(

Is the friendship based entirely on the band or something? Try to recruit her into fandoms you like too, and talk about them instead. Change the subject when she starts rambling. She might not get the hint that you hate the music, but she might get that you're more interested in Fandom B since you're more responsive to that one. Talking to an uninterested person is like talking to a brick wall; she'll enjoy it more if you like the topic too.

But that's just my view. I don't know you or your friend (at least, I'm 99.9% sure I don't, but you're an anonymous so hey, it's possible) so I can't judge if your friendship is "proper" or not.
