It makes me chuckles when people think being part of a hate!dom isn't as much fun as a fandom.

I don't really support unrestrained hate, but seriously? You can't see how much enjoyment and self-validation people get about opposing something popular?

For the most part that's me too :) I want to LOVE EVERYTHING and SHIP EVERYBODY YAAAY.

OP's attitude just makes me like O.o... why mock the haters? Why even feel sorry for them? They're doing something that makes them happy and feel good about themselves.

IDK man, when I was a hater (of other things) it didn't particularly make me happy. Self-validated, yeah, but even then there was a faint feeling of knowing it was empty, and seeing some hatedoms I get the same vibe. Not saying I'm cool with the obsessive, obnoxious fans, but not paying attention to them (or to the things I hate) is just less tiring.

Sincerely though, I just think the OP is feeling burnt out. May even be a new-ish fan. When I was really into anime there was (and probably there still is) so much negativity towards it and its fans that it was... sad, really, for me and for them. So if the OP wants to mock or feel sorry, that's their deal, 'cause its not like the hatedom is cupcakes and sparkles either :/

Yeah, I guess I've never tried to actually hate to the point of trolling, as some people seem to. And I'm not into anime so maybe I'm missing the context.

I guess my gut point is that some people just do hate things, and to act like that's laughable or sad when there are usually perfectly good reasons for it, is repressive of ideas even within the positive parts of fandom. I've seen OP's passive-aggressive reaction in plenty of over-defensive fans who think it's their job to drive out 'dissenters'.
