Why

are we supposed to be ugly or something

(Anonymous) 2010-11-14 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
OMG didn't you know, all slash fangirls are supposed to be basement-dwelling trolls who can barely even move, let alone even think about leaving the house.

*eyeroll*

(Anonymous) 2010-11-14 10:12 pm (UTC)(link)
you can make fun of the stereotype, but you can't deny that slashers as a demographic aren't exactly the type to primp and polish..

(Anonymous) 2010-11-14 10:19 pm (UTC)(link)
You must know a lot of slash fans.

I haven't even met one

(Anonymous) 2010-11-14 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
There has been nothing about the slashers I've met in conventions or seen online pictures of that suggests that they don't "primp and polish". IDK where you're coming from at all.

Primping and polishing doesn't necessarily correlate with good looks.

But you don't have to be super polished to look pretty. You just need to have good genes.

Depends. Sometimes taking care of yourself can do wonders. Especially things like braces/proper diet/cleaning your face/etcetc. A world of difference.

Speaking from experience.

[identity profile] aliceorch.livejournal.com 2010-11-23 04:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I wouldn't call that super polished, just basic care.

Is anyone "as a demographic" the type to primp and polish? Even people we assume do - Hollywood's latest darling and the like - seem to not bother when there's not someone else around to do it for them in a studio. How else do the idiot rags get all those "LOL LOOK HOW HORRIBLE THIS STAR LOOKS WHILE SHOPPING" pics?

I honestly can't think of a DEMOGRAPHIC who are "the type to primp and polish" on a daily basis and of their own desire.
