You know, I've never met anyone who actually hated Waterworld. Either they enjoyed the film, or found it so terrible as to be hilarious.

Sadly I met lots of people, who hate this movie.
There was even a comm here on LJ, where 3 people constantly made fun of that movie. I joined and tried to talk to this guys, but soon after they deleted the comm ^^;

btw: on imdb were also lost of threads, where ppl shredded the movie to pieces. Dunno if these are still there. Haven't checked there in a looong time ^^;

Really? That's a horrible shame -- it's always upsetting to see people actively insulting the films one likes. >:/

Honestly OP, this was torn apart by american reviewers. I think it was made with different mentality than they are used to. It even reminds me of some European movies I've seen.


Post-apocalyptic world with religious themes? So not what most people can swallow. :D

You're probably right ^^

Everyone always talks about how this movie was a big flop - but that was only in the US. Worldwide it was a blockbuster and the dvd-sales later went really good. Also it was nominated for an Oscar (best sound) - but hardly anyone thinks of stuff like that ^^;
