Alright anon. Go read number 2. Now.

There's this creep (like, actual creep, with the glasses and the stalking and the ugh) who does this to me at my school. I'm not friends with him, in fact, I despise him and have since 5th grade. It seemed unreasonable, even to me, that I loathe him so much. And then I realized it was because of this right here. He gets into EVERYTHING I have ever considered my own and tries to get me to talk about it with him. He imposes on everything and everyone and I am about this close to punching him in the face because of it.

I'm going to take your word on this and say that you are actually friends with this person. Give them space, and find your own interests. Trust me, you'll both be better off.

Wow, I had someone like that following me around when I was at sixth-form. His eyesight was fine but he latched onto me and kept trying to butt into my fandoms, my IRL friendships, my online life - he started randomly contacting people I knew online and it was so creepy and he failed at getting it when I told him to back off; he thought he was just 'being friendly' when it was blatantly just epically creepy.

So yeah, OP, give them space, be yourself, have your own unique set of interests and influences. I always thought that was kind of the point of fandom - we're all of us collections of different interests, and all have something unique to bring to the table.
