I'd wish they hadn't done 358/2 Days but quite frankly, Birth By Sleep was so fucking awesome I forgive everything.

On the other hand, watching the AkuRoku shippers squirm, scream and cry about it is hilarious so I could forgive Days on that merit alone.

Wait, why would they scream and cry about it? I thought 15 hours of freudian popsicles on a freudian clocktower would've been plenty of ammo for the AkuRoku squee battalions. Was it because Xion was even THERE?

I think it's because a lot of shippers got a distinctly kinda paternal relationship goin' between Axel-Roxas in Days and that's not the dynamic they were hoping for.

(I love it, but I didn't ship them before the game came out either, so.)

That part didn't surprise me because I thought AkuRoku was creepy shota from the get-go, so I couldn't get why they wouldn't be squeeing at it anyway what with all the time they were spending together licking things. Although it made Axel much more of a mushy-mush than I'd thought.

Personally I got some hell yeah Saix/Axel (SaiAku? LOL) from Days, which come to think of it was the only interesting thing I got out of it ………… But then Lea and Isa were hanging out in BBS too so it seems practically canon XD;

But he's so cute as a mushy-mush! I guess it was a bit different because there was always a chance that they'd have had more of an equal partner dynamic within the Org. which does put a different spin on the pairing even if it doesn't take away the age complications, and then canon went and made it more parental? IDEK.

Thaaaaaat. YES. I ship that, if I ship anything and oh man Lea and Isa were SO CUTE snarking at each other in BBS. SO CUTE.

Pretty much.

Xion dared to exist (or not exist as is the dubious state of existence re:Nobodies and replicas) and suddenly the ship is threatened! O! M! G! The -mother fucking- horror!

No matter how much the interactions with her may have enforced the ship, apparently the premise of the ship is so flimsy the mere presence of a girl invalidates it.
