But Nintendo does try to cater to what their fanbase expects. Even NoA listens to some extent, seeing how the Tingle Rupee game was only released in the UK and Japan :( At least they listen when they're not turning the other ear about localizing Mother games, or other nice things.

Definitely agree about MM versus TP. It even managed to be that without seeming like it was trying too hard to be those things imo.
