If they mean basic training, then no. They'll have to wait about eight weeks 'til tech school to get computer access again. At least as far as I know from my recent US Air Force and Navy -joining contacts.

Aww hell, I'm so glad I waited until this morning to comment on this one - I got the "basic training" part, but then I was like, "'can't' talk? Is this some strange new variation of 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell?' Are you, like, no longer allowed to even acknowledge gay people?". Totally never occurred to me that it might be because of lack of computer access. *herp derp*

You won't be able to talk about much of anything in basic, if it makes you feel any better. At least not while a Sergeants around, because they'll most likely decree 'NO TALKING', or only being able to to talk about academics/training/rolling socks. And during meals you'll be to busy shoveling food in your mouth to do anything else.

On EP/Guard duty/Patrol (depends on which basic your going to. Which service?) if you have a friend doing it with you, if their cool about slash you could talk with them about it. Heck the girl I was best friends with in BMT and always did night watch with, we always talked about back home, and the cute boys in brother flight.

And the Military just doesn't want to know YOU are gay, they don't give two shits if you read about.
