I'm just naturally skeptical of anyone who claims that their family kills people for fun and profit. Seems like, regardless of whether or not you could intimidate your friend into keeping quiet, you might want to keep it under wraps. No sense in maybe drawing attention when it's so much easier to stay under the radar.

My mom was good friends with a Mafia Don's daughter when she was in college. When she visited their family's household, the Don made sure she knew, every time she saw him, that if she ever needed anyone "taken care of," to let him know. They aren't too shy about it. Maybe in public, but when it's just one person, I doubt they're worried. They'd know who squealed.
