People seem strangely optimistic (or possibly pessimistic, depening on your POV?) about how long HP will be a 'big thing'. Yeah, obviously it will be around for quite some time after the last movie, but really, it's hardly like the invention of electricity or the writings of some great philosopher. It may stick around, but not so as you'd notice if you're not actively involved in the fandom.

I agree. Sure, it'll always have a fandom, but in the general media it'll be avoidable eventually.

i already don't notice HP anymore. Never hear about it IRL or from my online friends, the only place I ever see it is on f!s and such. And the occassional 'did you go see the new HP movie?' 'Nah, not really interested'[/conversation]. If even that is a problem for OP, they need to lighten up.

I came here to say something similar.
I really don't see the big HP hype outside of the internet communities anymore. Okay, it exists now. HP is an established franchise. Next big thing, plz?
