I'm with you. My aunt and uncle are ginormous homophobes and thought I was in the same boat with them. The awkwardness of the first time they made a comment and realized I wasn't is still stamped on the inside of my head. After that they kept trying to convince me that I was wrong and that gays were disgusting and OMG how couldn't I see that. It's like they lived on the moon (They actually live in California and made sure to give me a call and rub it in when Prop 8 was passed.)

I still don't get what their reasoning is but among the funniest where:

-But we watched a show about brothers and sisters getting married and that was disgusting.

-There are still people against interracial marriage. Not everyone agrees on everything.

-It's ugly when two men (or two women) kiss. It doesn't look good.

-We have nothing against gay couples but they should keep it in the privacy of their homes and don't force us to see them.
