I never understood this mentality. Why can't you be friends with male gamers? How is being a girl who plays games any different from being a guy who plays games (aside from being more likely to get harassed on MMOs)? This whole "girl gamer" thing is so dumb - a gamer is just a gamer IMO. :/

I'm not the OP but I'm a "girl gamer" who doesn't refer to herself as one and I have plenty of male friends who game but no female friends. I would love to find some girls who play games other than Mario but only because it would be nice to talk about girly things *and* games with the same person. Really though, is that a big deal? Nope.
