If you get particularly attached to the characters it makes sense that you may feel awkward becoming "attached" to others. Plus, Liara is awesome.

I know how you feel. Well, sort of. I don't actually feel guilty when romancing other characters, but it does feel 'off'. By now, I think I have five ME1 save games; in 1 I romanced Kaidan, in 1 I didn't romance anyone and in the others I romanced Liara. In ME2, I found I had no trouble 'cheating' on Kaidan with Garrus (not really cheating though, you were dead for 2 years, that ends a relationship in my eyes), but I couldn't cheat on Liara!

I felt that way with my main!Shep too, but I romanced Kaidan with her. And created two save files so I could go and romance Garrus with one of them.

But, especially if you consider the events of Mass Effect: Redemption, I can easily see why you'd be that attached to Liara. She really does go through hell for Shepard's sake.

Dawww. I haven't played Mass Effect yet (from what I heard I'd probably pick Liara though), but I'm this way with my visual novels- once I find a character whose route I really love, I feel terrible going back and romancing the other ones too. Usually, I don't even try.

So yeah, you're not alone <3

I'm the same way with Garrus (although my canon!Shep had a failed romance with Kaidan, which I actually went back and played out for that purpose). A lot--and I mean, a lot of fans have only one character they want to romance, and it's fine. :D It's a game that lets you choose, so choose what you like!

Also that is a kickass picture of Liara and I can't remember where I've seen it before. Is it from the cover of one of the comics?

I'm the same way. I love Liara and her romance way too much. I did romance Garrus once (I'm an achievement whore) and it just wasn't the same. I had to 'correct' it afterwards and go back to being loyal to Liara.
