Isn't 43 a 'take it to comments' secret?

I'm not certain that it is. It's very elaborate, and has good reasons on its own for being a secret. If it hadn't been sparked by a specific other secret that you could see, it would be fine as a secret on its own. I think the point of the "take it to comments" is usually just for when someone copies another secret and adds little more than "+1" or "no stfu".

I would guess that the difference between yours and the one that was posted is that yours was very brief. It could have been said as a comment in response to the original secret (e.g. "When I read your secret, I thought you were talking about a fandom person. Disappointed to realize you weren't.") Also, your comments would not have made sense without the original secret. It was only a reaction to that other secret.

The one that was posted today was considerably more tl;dr than that. And although it refers to a previous secret, it doesn't depend on that other secret. It mentions the other secret but goes on to detail something that is related, personal, and independent of that other secret's existence.

I'm not technophile, so I don't know for sure. But I suspect that this has something to do with that decision.
