I'm not the secret poster, but the manga in #17 is, I think, called Shadow Star. The Japanese title was Naru Taru, if I remember rightly. It starts out cute and fluffy, but then - well, yeah. I'm not sure if it's been translated or not, but I seem to remember some wank about censored artwork which mentioned this series, so I think it has been.

10. Like OEL/World Manga? Or just when people try to do anime fancomics and try way too hard to emulate a Japanese art style, as opposed to sticking with their own unique style? If that's the case, I can kinda see where you're coming from. I find that many times when people try to duplicate a style of art that's foreign to them, it often looks stiff and boring.

20. I liked it as well! I thought it was a lot of fun, and found myself laughing a lot, too XD I wouldn't have found it nearly as enjoyable if it was super-serious.

10. Agreed. I don't know if Japanese doujin artists are just uber-talented or spend much more time on their work than American ones, because most American doujinshi looks like it was scribbled on a napkin during lunch.
