In my bandoms (most of 'em are Japanese) a lot of the guys have to lie about having partners because the fans will probably kill them. It's just like. Why

John and Yoko were a very cute couple, even if there were aspects of her I didn't like (mainly her treatment of John's other son, nothing to do with 'breaking the band up' or w/e)

the beatles fandom is amazing. and there are tons of people there that like yoko, and don't like yoko, but no one really cares who likes who. at least, that's the experience i've had. <3
everyone pretty much loves the beatles, so they have a good time.

Mn, the Beatles fandom is more open-minded than this about Yoko, I think. People like Yoko as an artist if not as a person, and rather few still believe she actually broke up the Beatles and manipulated John to do things against his will and all that stuff. Of course, there are still people who heartily dislike her for various reasons, but I don't think you'd get flamed for liking her, really.

As a member of this precise fandom I say, join away! There are a few Yoko-centric coms on LJ that you might enjoy too. The only thing I'd say would be to stay relatively away from the Beatles slash communities, John/Paul shippers are not especially kind to Yoko on the whole, as you may imagine.

Otherwise it's all good, peace and love, as you know ^^
