Not any more legitimate than "I have limited time and don't want to spend it playing ugly games when I can play pretty ones." That is--they're both legit reasons.

Limited time is a concern, yes, and I gotta deal with that myself - but there are better criteria for picking what to spend your time on. I've only finished a few Final Fantasy games (XII, Tactics, XIII), for example, but my trouble catching up isn't because of graphics, it's because of the time investment or gameplay issues or trouble getting hold of one to play in the first place.

eye rolls forever. There is an avalanche of pretty current-gen games. I could play nothing BUT things I think are pretty and still not have time to play everything that gets good review.
