Many people continue to interact with their rapist "normally" after being raped. Sometimes they don't have a choice, sometimes they like or love their rapist and don't want to believe that the rapist would do something to hurt them. Not everyone reacts in the same way.

I don't think so, no. In this case, both women were supporters of Wikileaks' mission, and one had facilitated his getting into the country at all. In my opinion, that gives them all the more reason to want to believe the best of him.

This exactly.

My ex boyfriend was a rapist. He serially raped one of my closest friends throughout the entirety of our relationship. I had no idea until she told me, two years after our relationship ended, because she had never shown any indication of trauma and continued interacting with him like they were friends. There's also manipulation by the rapist to be considered. At least some of the time there is a significant amount of mindfuck involved in rape cases.
