I agree with this so much. I don't think most Otalia fans realize how lucky we were to have this couple at the end of the show, even if we didn't get that damn kiss, at least we know they are together.

It's just the nature of soaps to break couples all the time. First it's a little cheating, then is some craziness, then more cheating, a break-down, losing memory, a forced couple that is the twu wuv evah! Death, coming abck from death, etc. until there is absolutely no way that that couple should ever be together again because they make each other miserable and are never there for each other and there is just so much cheating!!

TL;DR: Agreed, otherwise, sooner or later they would have been broken up.

I used to watch One Life with my mom and there was this weird paradox for me of hoping the people I shipped never actually got together in canon- if they did, they'd be happy for maybe a week and then bad things would start happening until the ship would get sunk forever.

I think my mom just liked seeing John McBain shirtless all the time. Also that Rex guy.
