Haha, in during useless, extensive arguing over the ~twu~ definition of a Mary Sue.

But anyway.
I just adored Sunako, which is exactly why I hated Wallflower- somewhere around episode 4 or 5 the show decided that she should be a chibi 90% of the time and be mostly used for comic relief, which pissed me off. I absolutely had to stop watching, though, after that episode where she got kidnapped and The Other Female Character's reason for why Ryouhei had to go rescue her was "she's a girl!"

Didn't you get the memo? A true Mary Sue is a character a person doesn't like who also happens to be female.

But about Wallflower: argh! No way. I'm only a few episodes into the series, but...before long, Sunako is fated to be a mere comic relief chibi? Who's rescued only because "She's a girl?" Do not waaaaant.

From what I've seen the anime as a whole isn't very good. I remember what I read of the manga being much better. Whether this holds true or not is another matter.

For what I remember the manga is about the same with the chibi issue. I stopped reading because I was wishing the author put a bit more effort into drawing, y'know, the main character and the plot kinda lost itself at one point. It started really interesting, but it gets repetitive.

Yeah, I remember giving up on the manga for that reason. I didn't like the guys, the only person I liked was Sunako, and the mangaka was OBSESSED with her ugly "bishounen". I'm saddened to hear the anime is that way as well.

You should watch the drama. It's more focused on her asshole love interest, but it made me weep oceans of tears, derived from various emotions including happiness, melancholy, and liquid black sorrow.

The plot is just so, so much better.
