If it were a friend or someone I knew that told me that, I would probably believe them completely, just like I do for most other things that they tell me. And I believe you completely when you say you've been there, I would never accuse you of lying about it. So I guess in some cases I do believe it 100%.

When it's a case like this secret, though... it's different somehow, I can't explain it myself. Maybe it's a result of being cynical about pretty much anything in the news? I think Julian Assange is a creeper douchebag, and I don't think the women are lying, but... maybe it's the impersonality of it? Maybe it's because the accused gets to argue back and make excuses? I'm trying to figure why or how it's different and I can't. ):

It might definately be the impersonality of it. You don't know these women. Hell, we don't even know their names or their faces. We just get their story fed to us in sound bites. Assange does get to defend himself a lot more because he is a high-profile person and he is in the media a lot. So, that does make sense.

I think that is a lot of it for me in this instance, their lack of names and stuff like that. Which makes me feel a little better, I guess. But it does give me something to think about.

Thank you for being so patient and understanding!
