I want to read this because I saw this History Channel special on him and it was crazy! I was in disbelief at all the stuff it was talking about. I like dark history. Granted ngl, I'd be too lazy to read that book.

It's really, really boring. Sure it has incest, and torture and vaginas being sewn up and breasts being chopped off, and the son raping the mother or sister, and rape, but, you know, it just keeps going and it just keeps being boring as shit.

History has made him into a much bigger presence then he needed to be, imo, he wasn't the first pornographer, he wasn't the best, he wasn't even the worst. He just had a shit load of crap-philosophy packed in between the raping and subjugating of women so people thought he was worth quoting.

And he wrote more than 100 Days of Sodom. Incest: A Tragic Tale (originally Eugenie De Franval) is much shorter. And still boring as nobody's business, but, you know. If you wanted.

I guess its more the content than the style that gave his name endurance?
