The irony of the matter, of course, is that sterilization is one of the surest ways to cut abortion rates. But I think I have an idea about the people you're referring to, and I wouldn't exactly expect them to be open to things like logic or reasoning....
The funny thing is (or sad thing), that apparently in a more secular and less lawsuit-prone environment they still won't do it, because they do not consider young women to be able to be "sure enough" about such a life changing decision. Though-one questions if they're "sure enough" to have children at that age, and that's probably much more life-changing.
