OMG SAME (for Toy Story 3, that is).

As for How to Train Your Dragon -- I loved the movie. I can freely admit it wasn't the best movie ever, but then I'm not into movies for their individuals values or whatever. I like movies because they entertain me, so action/adventure movies are usually my favorite, and animated so much more so because it's easier to do so much more in animation. HTTYD is pretty much all I want in a movie, and that's enough for me <3

~~Also, I hate having to think when I walk into a theater. I refuse to be ashamed of this, but I'm striking it out anyway. :D~~

Yeah, it wasn't bad, but it definitly is my least favourite of the trilogy. Lotso was also kind of disappointing for some reason in the end. Overall, it was enjoyable but I don't get why people thought it was the 'best Pixar'. Because it wasn't to me. Not the worst either but not the best.

I guess because Pixar when it comes to 'ending' their villians always has them 'suffer' and it's getting a little old now for me- and that's the one area Dreamworks beats them in since they have more of a mix in that area (some 'end' or whatever others make it out okay). But also maybe something else, I'm not sure.

Oscar worthy=/=good film

I might be stepping where I'm not called, but your comment seem to imply that a movie Oscar worthy was good or even better.

I don't trust anyone's "THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER OMG" opinion about anything since it's either hyperbole or just something that catered to their taste at the time. That's okay, but I'd rather go in blind and think about it for myself. Hype is just a way to set yourself up to be underwhelmed.

If someone takes personal offense to your dislike of the movie, they're kind of silly. Especially if you're chill and reasonable about stating why if you ever felt the need to. I don't think you should have to justify it anyways since a simple "I did not like it." should suffice and end any discussion/argument. I doubt most people run around badgering people about why they like things and why they're "wrong."

I liked HTTYD though. It was cute.

I didn't think it was anything special either, but I loved Toothless. He was the only good thing in it in my opinion.

I haven't read that book in a LONG while, but from what I can recall, how exactly is it like Johnny Tremain? Aside from the losing a limb part, I can't see how it relates to HTTYD.

Not trying to invalidate your point of view, I was just curious.

What I most associate with Johnny Tremain is the loss of limbs. Amputation/limb loss is a huge squick of mine. It was rather traumatizing for me to see in the movie so that's what I remember about it as well.

It's not the best analogy I suppose.

I enjoyed it, but it hasn't caused me to re-assemble my world view or anything. The only thing I think makes it noteworthy is the fact Hiccup loses a leg. He's still the hero, he's not treated like a victim and life will go on.

I could do with a few more heroes like that.

As long as you don't rage at other people for liking it, I don't think there's anything wrong with disliking it. I thought it was a great movie, not my favorite CG-animated film (that would go to Up), but it's high on my list.

I love it, but you are allowed your own opinion and shouldn't feel bad about it. Not everyone loves the same things, after all.

Hell, I didn't even like it, much less think it was remotely "special." Meh.

I hated it for the first half, until I just told myself to chill out. Then I found it mediocre.

Aaaaaaaaugh I hate secrets like this, because the fact someone doesn't agree that a movie is the best thing ever shouldn't be a big deal to anyone! Especially to the people who like that particular movie.

Don't feel ashamed, anon. I loved this movie, and think it's the best thing to hit theaters since forever, but honestly if you just didn't think it was anything special that's nothing to hide.

People gotta stop making their opinions seem so much better than those who disagree...I'm sorry you feel like you have to hide that, OP :c
