I actually *like* CoD's plots. I literally came into this series for the gameplay (maybe multiplayer, but I can't do that now) and expecting zero plot, so that may be why, but they're honestly decent.

Black Ops was a bit of a mindfuck, too.

Ahhh, don't be so down on yourself, OP. You shouldn't have to feel that you have to enjoy something in a certain way, or else you're "doing it wrong."

Also, agreed! I love the plots for the games and the characters, as well as the game-play. Of course, they're a bit Clancy or Cussler-esque (you know, repetitive, procedural, but still very thrilling and enjoyable reads), but there's absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying this kind of paperback novel plot.

All my friends and family who play Modern Warfare 2 don't get my obsession with Campaign. My sister actually regrets introducing me to the game because of all the squeeing I do whenever I see Soap.

Seriously people will scoff at the shittiness of shooter plots and in the next breath praise CoD4's campaign for its storytelling or rave about how Price or Gaz or Reznov is one of their favourite characters. You just rose above the "FPS plots are all shit" meme. No shame in that.

I love the plots sooooo much! MF2 made me cry like a baby and Black Ops was amazing for the Cold War stuff and the surprise mindfuck. Ahhh, I gotta play campaign again.
