I think there's a bigger divide then you might think. Ayn Rand, if I recall correctly, didn't necessarily like libertarians, even if her ideas are very, very similar.

Then again, some of the biggest douchebags I've had the displeasure of meeting have been Objectivists, whereas most of the libertarians are decent people, even if I find that their economic ideas are repugnant to me.

Hell, I used to be a libertarian.
