God, I went away for an hour and came back to find this thread has become about omnivores self-justifying their diet! This is absurd, and it reminds me why I avoid making public statements to friends and family about my lifestyle :(
I wish more people understood that veganism is a philosophy and a way of life. I highly doubt that the same people who feel the need to vindicate their eating meat (or, you know, claim that humans EVOLVED to eat meat *snort*) would feel compelled to speak up against someone who simply shared a different religion.
Bah. I appreciate (and okay, am a little envious!) of your rationality when explaining our lifestyle to some of the less accepting attitudes in this thread. So for now I'll stay out of the fray and just give you a major *brofist* for being awesome.
