The biggest problem would be the teasing he might get in elementary school. Also, there's a good chance the experience would turn him against the Arthurian myth forever. It's different than naming your kid Arthur or Gwen or Morgana, because then at least those names are found beyond the legends.

I would suggest maybe using it as a nickname, if he'd like.

Or name your daughter Marilyn. That's like Merlin in disguise.
