Not everyone has one feeling. I love and adore them, but I also have the capacity to be annoyed with them. Real friends aren't perfect. If they are, they're hiding something. Better to love all the faults and perfections then just a blank slate of happiness. And I'm pretty sure everyone has looked down on their friends at one point. At least my judgement isn't based off drugs or crime. It's a fucking book.

Being annoyed or disagreeing with a friend is one thing. Thinking of them as lesser human beings over same is entirely different. And I'd say you don't love their faults, if that's how you truly feel. At least if they were into drugs or crime, your distaste might help them get away from something life-threatening. What books they like (or don't) are hardly serious business, by contrast.

I can only think that there are a lot of important things you missed in those books, and feel a little bit sorry for you.

I didn't miss anything in those books. And acceptance goes both ways. You all seem to have such a huge reaction to a Tolkien nerd dismissing haters but when haters dismiss Tolkien nerds, it's like, as normal as bread. And I've seen at least 5 secrets bashing the books and people who like it. Lol acceptance? You're doing a great job of proving that to me.

I think your reading comprehension needs work. I never said anything about acceptance or haters. If you're replying to someone else, reply to their comment. On acceptance, though -- sure, it goes both ways, but you can only responsible for yourself, and your lack of respect for people who don't share your opinions isn't likely to change any minds about Tolkien nerds, let alone the books themselves.

Otherwise, all I am saying is that if your friends don't respect you and what you like and you don't respect them and what they like, you're not really friends, and you'll probably all be a lot happier if you say goodbye to each other.

Of course it's entirely possible for you respect each others' differences and still be friends, but it doesn't sound like that's the case (for you or your friends, if they really bang on that much about how "lol stupid" the Silm is).

The book was boring ass shite, and Tolkien was a racist. You'd be better off writing some Giles mpreg.
