I know it's a cultural thing and all, but I can't help thinking that it'd just be so strange to not be calling your teacher/boss/whatever by their first name.

I call my professors by their first name as well, and I am from the US. I wonder if it is because I am going to an art school though...

haha me, too. All the art professors here refuse to be called by their last names.

Art program in college here (Canada), but it's the same here. Heck, we even call the Campus Dean by his first name and he's cool with it.

If I were to try calling any of the teachers by their first name they'd be like, "lolwhut".
