And never mind teachers (who yes, I called by first name behind their backs pretty often in high school), I went through a whole phase of referring to my parents by their first names when I was in high school and college. Tons of people do that.
Just saying, that isn't a great reasoning for why people perhaps shouldn't use first names in fic. And also, once people are fucking? They tend to call each other by their first names. So if it's ship fic I think it's entirely appropriate. (Heck, even Lady Gaga just said that she prefers lovers to call her Stefani in bed.)
