Bitching within the fan community is nothing new; it's been there since before the Nerd/Critic feud. That said, you can never please everybody all of the time.

Back up. Hold the phone. Think realistically about this: you will NOT be able to "create something that will please everyone." Nobody ever has. Create something that YOU can be pleased with and be proud of--something that you can defend to critics politely but honestly. I think that's a goal that will make you much happier in the end.

Anon, go for it. Go and follow your dream. Just keep this in mind: There will always be one person out there that will despise you or hate what you do, even without a plausible reason. But when you have a flock of people that hate your opinion but still watch what you do, you have been successful.
