Holy balls, I think I remember you. Even if I don't, I probably read that fic, because I definitely had (still have) a huge thing for Auron and crossovers.

For the record, I was kind of disappointed when the person I'm thinking of dropped off the face of the Net, but it wasn't the end of the world or anything. If you want to rewrite it, that'd be cool, but it's your choice.

OP here :) The main thing that prevents me from rewriting it is the 80,000 or so words of pure exposition that made up the first few chapters before they actually meet. Thinking about it now, if I tried to recreate them it would probably be a totally different story. Which I'd be okay with, actually, even if it means I lose a few scenes I was really attached to. Like Quistis getting hit on by Rinoa's totally hammered dad.

Well, shit, thanks for de-anoning for us! Honestly, anything you try to recreate eight years later is going to be different--and most probably for the better (although that scene sounds hilarious). Sounds like you've gotten some fresh new ideas, though, and that's great.

Also, I'm pretty sure you weren't the author I was thinking of, oops, but my point stands about probably having read your fic anyway. Especially if it took 80,000 words to get to the romantic bits.
